2005 will be our fourteenth year of activity taking people to trek through remote and wild regions.

Rotas do Vento was founded in 1992 by Gonçalo Velez who, after long years of mountaineering activity, decided to create adventure travel programs designed for inexperienced people who should be Nature lovers and possess a strong willingness to acquire unique experiences during their holidays.

It was established from the beginning that our vocation lies in being specialists in Nature travel, mainly on foot, and we have kept faithful to this philosophy ever since. Our name means exactly that: Routes of the Wind.
The priority has always been the choice of itineraries that offer magnificent natural scenery in remote regions providing at the same time a contact with an interesting native culture. But, to reach those places, you have to do an effort for the reward will be visiting places reserved to only a few. This is the main characteristic of our programs.

Rotas do Vento is a fully bonded travel agency and this is the guarantee that you will be receiving a professional service. But it is not the only one: all of us who work at Rotas do Vento possess several years of experience in the outdoors and a great passion for what we do.

We are a small independent Portuguese agency and all the programs that we offer have been researched and designed by us. We therefore know quite well what we are talking about !

As a relevant example, Rotas do Vento was the first Portuguese agency who organized a group into Bhutan in 1994.
