Trip program
D1: Meet in Kathmandu, hotel in Thamel.
D2: Free day in Kathmandu to visit historical places: Durbar Square, Swayambunath, Pashupatinath, Patan, Baktapur, Boudhanath, etc.
D3: Bus transport to Pokhara (800m) (7h). This trip will be an excellent introduction to the local lifestyle; hotel.
D4: Drive to Phedi (1100m) (15mn), and meet our porters. We climb in stairways for the first hour, then on a trail among rice fields, passing by Dhampus and a great view over Dhaulagiri (8127m). We lodge in Pothana (1760m) where we will get a first glimpse over the beautiful Macchapuchare (6993m), the sacred mountain in the shape of a fish tail.
D5: Pothana-Ghandrung (1980m) (6h).
We hike up to a col (2100m) among chestnut-trees enjoying the view over river Modi Khola valley. Passing by New Bridge, where we can stop to visit the hot water springs and have a bath, we climb to Ghandrung by stairways.
D6: Ghandrung-Banthanti (2500m) (6h). We continue our hike towards Gorapani meeting peasants and their animals on the caravan route to Jomoson. Magnificent views over the Kali Gandhaki valley.
D7: Banthanti-Hile (1860m) (5h). In the morning, optional ascent to Poon Hill (2h) with an excelent panorama over the Himalayas. Passing Gorapani we will find ourselves on the ancient caravan trail to Tibet. Beautiful views over Annapurna South (7200m).
D8: Hile-Birethanti (1000m) (4h). Long descent after Ulleri and trek along the Bhurungdi Khola banks, crossing several suspended bridges. Transport to the hotel in Pokhara.
D9: Drive to the river Trisuli. Meeting
with our rafting team and briefing about the equipment and navigation
procedures. We will cross very different landscapes and several
marag and gurung villages. Very exciting moments
during the rafting! Camping on a beach, diner around the fire.
D10: We continue rafting during the morning until we reach Narayanghat in Terai, the tropical area of Nepal. Bus transport to Chitwan National Park, famous for its interesting and varied wildlife.
D11: Early morning wake up for an elephant safari. In the afternoon we will be canoeing on river Rapti and in the evening a typical diner will be served with an exhibition of traditional Tharu dancing.
D12: Bus drive to Kathmandu (4h) and return to the hotel.
D13: Free day in Kathmandu.
D14: End program after breakfast.
Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
Note: The rafting trip is easy and experience is not needed.

Price - Valid in 2004.
Includes: hotel in double room with breakfast in Kathmandu and Pokhara, lodge in Chitwan, mountain huts during the trek, double tent during the rafting, all domestic transport, trekking permit, entry fees in national parks, guide, cook, porters, lifejackets and rafting equipment.
Does not include: visa (USD 30.), airport tax (+/- USD 15), personal equipment, visits on free time, single room supplement, main meals in cities, tips, travel insurance, international transport.
Guiding: Nepalese guides speaking English.
Group: min 4 persons, max 16.
Luggage: Transported by porters during the trek, max 15 kg per person.
Program: Depending on weather conditions, the groups condition or other justifiable, the guide may alter the program.
Vaccines: None mandatory. Malaria prevention is recommended.
Equipment: Trekking boots, sleeping bag (3-4 seasons), waterproof gear, etc.
After your booking you will receive a Trip Information sheet which includes a detailed recommended equipment list.
Documentation: valid passport, the Nepal visa is
obtained on arrival at Kathmandu airport.
