Trip program
D1: Meet at the hotel in Arusha.
D2: Drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate in Marangu (1800m), and meet our guides, cooks and helpers. Hike through the tropical forest to Mandara hut (2165m)(4h), near the Maundi crater.
D3: 5h hike across magnificent vegetation to Horombo hut (3690m); tent.
D4: Rest day for altitude acclimatization.
D5: Trek through a desertic landscape until we reach a plateau under Mount Mawenzi (5149m). To NW we can enjoy a view over Kilimanjaro (5894m). Soon we arrive at Kibo hut (4770m) (6h).
D6: Wake up at around 1am and begin the ascent to the summit. In about 5h we reach Gillmans Point (5685m) and watch a wonderful sunrise (hopefully). Another 2h will take us to Uhuru (5895m), Kilimanjaros summit, where we enjoy a magnificent scenery. Return to Horombo hut.
D7: Hike to the Marangu gate (5h) and return to Arusha; hotel.
D8: Midday transfer to Lake Manyara Reserve with game drive, camp.
D9: Safari at Lake Manyara Reserve. By mid afternoon we drive to Karatu where we camp.
D10: Safari at N'Gorongoro. The NGorongoro crater has 20Km in diameter and an astonishing abundance
and diversity of fauna and flora. Maasai people have kept
their rights to use the grassland for their herds so we are likely
to spot some local shepherds in their typical red costumes.
Full day safari in the crater.
D11: Early morning drive to the Serengeti
Reserve (5h), one of the most famous African reserves, where
we will find one of its biggest concentration of wild beasts.
D12 and D13: Game drives in Serengeti.
D14: After a brief game drive we return to Arusha (8h).
D15: End program after breakfast.
Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous (moderate corresponds to reaching Gillman's point, strenuous above it).

Includes: Hotel in double room with breakfast in Arusha, hut and double tent during the trek and safari, all domestic transport in 4wd, guide, porters, entries at national parks, all meals during the climb and safari.
Does not include: personal equipment, visa (USD 20.), airport taxes (USD 20), visits on free time, main meals in the cities, tips, travel insurance.
Equipment provided: Double tents, mattresses.
Guiding: Tanzanian guide speaking English.
Group: min 4 persons, max 15.
Luggage: Transported by porters during the climb, max 12 kg per person.
Program: Depending on weather conditions, the groups condition or other justifiable, the guide may alter the program.
Vaccines: None mandatory; we recommend the yellow fever and malaria prevention.
Equipment: Trekking boots, sleeping bag (3-4 seasons), waterproof gear, etc.
